WOMAD!!

I had a great time at WOMAD! And we were so lucky, because the weather was great and i stayed at the best place i could wish for. When the festival ended at 12 there was campfire and music back at the house. Later on i would jump in my sleeping bag with all my clothes on because even though it was tropical during the day, it was freezing cold at night, brrrr...

Friday at 6 pm the festival was opened by a Maori group with a Haka. Not like the ones you see at rugby but a ceremonial one with dancing and singing.

Working for the ZERO WASTE team at WOMAD to get a free ticket. 

The cleanest festival I've ever been :) Perfect system, should be introduced at Lowlands. 

Day 1: Educating people about trash, biodegradables and recycling. And I must say: we were good! We did need to learn to be a wee bit more subtile and not jump on people who threw things in the wrong bin. We were definitely very dedicated!

The guy on the right got married in the park in January and his wedding pictures were taking in front of this waterfall. So we did a little reconstruction. 

Day 2: instead of standing at one location we walked around to collect garbage, what gave us the freedom to see some shows. Maybe we look a bit to happy for garbage collectors...

Adam Page was INCREDIBLE!! My #1!

He records live instruments into loop pedals and spontaneously composes all kinds of sounds in many different styles. 

He primarily plays the saxophone, but also loops Bass, Keys, Percussion, Vocals, Tuvan Throat Singing, Beat Boxing, Guitar, Banjo, Flute,Clarinet, Kalimba (African Thumb Piano), Didgeridoo and Nose Flute in styles ranging from Funk, Tango and Punjabi to Classical, Jazz and Afrobeat. 

If you close your eyes and just listen it seems like there are 10 people on the stage. And he even makes music with his beard =)

On sunday we went rope swinging at a river nearby. It was the first time i did it and it was really difficult! 
It was supposed to look something like this... 

...but i could hardly hold on hahaha. Seriously BAD muscle pain the next days...
