First day in New Plymouth

I arrived on thursday in New Plymouth with no place to stay. But luckely I had the number of Nico, a friend of Marieke. So i called him and i could go with him to where he was staying.
WOMAD is held in the Brooklands & TSB Bowl, a gorgeous parkland at the heart of Taranaki. In this park there is one residential home. So during the festival this house is in the middle of it all. The main stage is more or less their front garden. When Nico picked me up I had no clue that he was going to this house. But in the end that's where I stayed during the whole weekend. Camping with great people in their garden. And it was awesome!!
The first day I went for a walk to the centre with Yona. I was going to volunteer for WOMAD, so i had to arrange some things. Yona is a midwife and it was interesting to listen to her stories and perspective on life.
